Malaysia’s semiconductor exports to the United States remain exempt from retaliatory tariffs for now, said Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz in the Dewan Rakyat on Thursday (Aug 7).
The US administration announced plans to impose about 100% tariff on semiconductor chips exported into the US which will not apply to companies that have invested in, are building or have committed to chip manufacturing facilities in the US.
