सुप्रीम कोर्ट में मंगलवार को बिहार की मतदाता सूची के विशेष गहन पुनरीक्षण (SIR) प्रक्रिया को लेकर दायर याचिकाओं पर अहम सुनवाई हुई। राजद सांसद मनोज झा और अन्य विपक्षी नेताओं की ओर से वरिष्ठ वकील कपिल सिब्बल ने दलीलें पेश करते हुए चुनाव आयोग की प्रक्रिया पर गंभीर सवाल उठाए। सिब्बल ने कोर्ट को बताया कि बिहार में मतदाता सूची में भारी गड़बड़ियां हैं, जहां कई जीवित लोगों को मृत घोषित कर दिया गया है, तो वहीं कुछ मृत लोगों के नाम सूची में शामिल हैं। उन्होंने तर्क दिया कि यह प्रक्रिया लाखों योग्य नागरिकों को उनके मताधिकार से वंचित कर सकती है।
