Nearly 800 undocumented migrants were detained in an Immigration Department raid at Jalan Bedara, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, on Tuesday night (Sept 2).
Immigration Department Enforcement Division director Basri Othman said the Ops Belanja operation, involving 106 officers, was launched in response to public complaints and saw checks on 2,445 people.
A total of 770 foreigners, comprising 377 Bangladeshis, 235 Myanmar nationals, 72 Nepalese, 58 Indians, 19 Indonesians, and nine others, were arrested for offences including lacking valid documents, overstaying, and using unrecognised passes.
